Why work at ʻŌiwi TV

We started ʻŌiwi TV with a dream to create the first Hawaiian owned and operated television station for our community – to tell stories from our perspective and for the benefit of all of Hawaiʻi. It was a very different model from other television stations because it had purpose, meaning, and most importantly grounded in our values and culture. I am thankful everyday for this kuleana to build something positive for my community and the opportunity to mentor young Hawaiians who are passionate about this work to benefit our people, language, culture, and ʻāina. Mahalo no ka mea loaʻa!

Interesting facts about me

I am a geek and love my tech toys. I like to take things apart and see how they work. My parents suffered for many years from my screwdriver and tools that took apart every piece of electronics in the house and never put them back together 🙂 Although I am a digital geek, I still love to fish and be out on the water as much as I can.

My favorite video on ʻŌiwi TV

All of the Nā Maka o ka ʻĀina videos. I remember watching Act of War in 1993 and it started a conscious awakening to seek out truth, challenge the status quo.
