Mele ma ka Lihiwai

ʻŌiwi TV presents Mele ma ka Lihiwai, an original television series celebrating the unique sounds of Hawaiʻi’s most renowned and talented musicians, bringing together celebrated artists performing traditional local favorites alongside new original compositions. Each episode highlights artists like Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winners, Mark Yamanaka, Lehua Kalima, Kainani Kahaunaele, Keauhou, Chad Takastugi and Josh Tatofi along with local favorites such as ʻAi Pōhaku and Pō & the 4fathers as they perform along side a lihiwai, or river, in Hawaiʻi nei. Stringing these musical pieces together, our host, Amy Kalili, engages in talk story sessions – many ma ka ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi – about the inspirations and personal sentiments behind the diverse range of mele that each artist and band shares with us. Join us for Mele Ma Ka Lihiwai and delight in the unique sounds that Hawaiʻi offers.
