Nearly three thousand rallied at ʻIolani Palace on April 12, 2015 to show solidarity for the protectors on Maunakea. The rally, “Kū Kia’i Mauna,” was held on the grounds and on King Street where demonstrators held signs. Musicians and speakers from several of the islands came and shared mele, manaʻo, oli, and hula.
