Huli aku nā pua i ka uʻi lolena
Mōhala nā lehua i ka Ua Tuahine

Puana kuʻu mele no Mānoa hiehie
I ola mau ka leo o kuʻu lāhui

In the uplands of Mānoa is my beautiful home
A beloved dwelling for many children

Kahalaopuna is its chiefess, placed on high
Protected by the Kahaukani wind

Sweet voices are heard in the morning
Singing like birds filled with love

Cherished is this land of Kānewai, where
My skin prickles in the cold water of the stream

The flowers turn, regard the beauty of Lolena
And blossom like lehua in the Tuahine rain
