From Hawaiʻi, For the World.

[hr]

ʻŌiwi Television is the only broadcast initiative with digital and cable platforms that not only creates and disseminates Hawaiian language and culture content, but also has the capacity to conduct its operations through the Hawaiian language. The wisdom, beauty and power of Hawai‘i are the backdrop to the most important and interesting narratives of our generation. Founded by Nāʻālehu Anthony, Keoni Lee, and Amy Kalili, this next generation of Native Hawaiian storytellers aim to tell the stories of our land and our people.

Education is at the core of what we do. We hire young, creative native Hawaiians and train them to the industry’s top standards, nurturing the kind of skilled storytellers who create media for audiences at home and around the world. We are committed to the revitalization of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, the Hawaiian language, and understand the importance of our role in media as part of this movement.

ʻŌiwi TV, on Spectrum channel 326 and online at www.oiwi.tv, is home to the production team’s original content and serves as a community hub for information, collaboration and engagement. We use innovative technology and traditional sensibilities to tell stories that matter. We also have extensive experience and expertise in creating and delivering media and engagement training for Hawaiian Medium Education students and teachers. (See Pulakaulāhui piece.)

The stories we tell—from the clients we work with to the questions we ask—are shaped by our aspiration to revitalize and affirm a positive native Hawaiian world view. We work to create a new narrative of the modern Hawaiian experience.

Watch, listen and learn with us at www.oiwi.tv, Spectrum Digital Channel 326, and @oiwitv.
