Hawaiian focused charter schools excel in state tests.
Out of the seven DOE high schools that have passed HSA with “unconditional in good standing” three are Hawaiian focused charter schools. A total of four Hawaiian focused charter schools (Kanu O Ka ʻĀina of Waimea Hawaiʻi Island, Hālau Kū Mana of Honolulu Oʻahu, Ka Waihona O Ka Naʻauao of Nānākuli Oʻahu, and Kula Aupuni Niʻihau A Kahelelani Aloha of Kekaha Kauaʻi) score high on the Hawaiʻi State Assessment. What makes these schools so successful?
