Sharks and other apex predators are vital in maintaining the health of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. These larger predators help to maintain healthy populations of  fish and other animal life to ensure  a balanced  andy healthy ecosystem.  A team of NOAA researchers tag and monitor two of Papahānaumokuākea Mariner National Monumentʻs largest apex predators, Sharks and ʻUlua.
