Kamehameha Schools: Agricultural Video

SCROLl TO DISCOVER

“He aliʻi ka ʻāina, he kauwā ke kanaka,” “the land is a chief and man its servant.” The wisdom in this transitional Hawaiian proverb is as powerful today as in ancient times. Hawaiʻi’s landscape is under rapid change and agricultural lands are under constant pressure of development. With over 181,000 acres of agricultural lands, the Kamehameha Schools has embarked on a bold initiative to try and form its lands into a source of sustainability for Hawaiʻi, producing food and renewable energy, while carefully managing precious natural resources.
