Nā Momi Ho‘oheno was created to capture the treasured life stories of our Hawaiian people so that future generations might be enriched by these priceless mo‘olelo of our cherished and unique way of life. Elaine Nickie Ahuna Hines was born in Hilo, Hawai‘i on August 28, 1927. Aunty Nickie has been playing Hawaiian music for more than 70 years. At the age of 9, she made her first professional debut with noted Hilo singer / composer, Albert Nahale-a. Since then she has played with some of Hawai‘i’s top musicians including Aunty Genoa Keawe.
