Produced by Kamehameha Schools’ Kaʻiwakīloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center

Nā Momi Ho‘oheno was created to capture the treasured life stories of our Hawaiian people so that future generations might be enriched by these priceless mo‘olelo of our cherished and unique way of life.

Adelaide Kaiwi Kuamū Sylva was born in 1914 and raised in Olowalu Valley, Maui.  In the late 1920s, she moved to nearby Lahaina where she and her family have been ever since.  Aunty Adelaide recalls the days of her youth and visits her childhood home for the first time in some 80 years.
