English

Located on the slopes of Maunakea, the sacred waters of Waiʻau are memorialized in numerous moʻolelo, mele, and hula. It is said if you havenʻt swam in Waiʻau, you havenʻt seen Maunakea. When Queen Emma visited Hawaiʻi island during her campaign for the throne, she made it a point to visit this important site.
