Sustaining the Continuum of Inter-generational Knowledge: Mahina Paishon-Duarte at #TEDxManoa

Mahina Paishon-Duarte hails from O’ahu a Lua and currently serves as Paepae o He’eia’s Board President. As the organization’s first executive director, Mahina and her core leadership team transitioned the organization from a volunteer group to a thriving not-for-profit that is recognized locally and internationally for its leadership and innovation in Hawaiian fishpond revitalization, food sustainability and native education. She continues to support Paepae’s educational efforts and strategic reach into the broader community as the principal of a Halau Ku Mana Public Charter School, a partner of Paepae o He’eia.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
