ʻŌiwi TV – The Future of Television: Nā’ālehu Anthony at #TEDxManoa

Naalehu Anthony is a native of Kaʻaʻawa and the owner of Palikū Documentary Films, a production company that concentrates on documentaries and oral histories with a special focus on Hawaiʻi and it’s people. He has a background in both the film industry and the Hawaiian community. He is a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools and received a B.A. in Hawaiian Studies from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa as well as a M.B.A. from the University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business. Nāʻālehu enjoys sailing in his free time and has earned his role as a captain for the traditional sailing canoe Hōkūleʻa. In 2010, he premiered this full-length documentary Papa Mau: The Wayfinder about master navigator Mau Piailug from Micronesia and his contributions to the modern history and identity of people of the Pacific. Papa Mau: The Wayfinder has been screened at film festivals around the world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
